VIA Nano Processors
Shortly after the release of OpenBook to technology just started Nano VIA processor family. The new product is based on VIA Isaiah architecture and plans to introduce low-power processor on the market.

Perhaps the new Nano processors are built on the successful energy-efficient VIA C7 processor family. They are designed to offer four times as much as possible the exercise of the powers within reach. The design allows the processor to be used in other VIA C7-based systems, mainly due to its pin compatibility. Therefore, OEM board and sellers can easily upgrade their current C7-based systems.

VIA Nano new processor family is specially designed for laptop and desktop market, which offers the most optimized to perform complex calculations, entertainment and connectivity applications. Perhaps this new Nanos will be capable of handling Blu-ray Disc ™ HD video and the latest computer games, such as Crysis ™. Maybe VIA is trying to become one of the leading producers of consumer processors, Intel, AMD and NVIDIA.

Fujitsu built with 65 productivity advanced production technologies, VIA Nano processor family was designed to improve the efficiency of power. "Via Nano processors represent the next generation of technology, x86, which provides the essential building blocks for a new genre of computers optimized solutions," said Wenchi Chen, president and CEO, Via Technologies, Inc.

First, the new products will be launched in two SKUs, namely VIA Nano L-series and U-series. The first series is intended to include desktop PC and mobile systems, and the second series was built on a small area Form Factor and ultra mobile devices.

The highest model L-series are equipped with a clock speed of 1.8GHz and the maximum level of TDP 25th, a top U-series model will have 1.3 + GHz and a maximum level of TDP 8th. No word on pricing just yet, but the products are expected on the market in the 3rd quarter of 2008.
