ASUS Eee Family Review

ASUS is intensifying efforts to broaden its EEO family during Computex. ASUS has already wowed consumers and online critics of the original PC EEO 701 4G. Within a few months after its release, the company introduced new models to occupy the price below and above the original entry - but so far not approached the $ 199 original vision.

ASUS recently to an initial EEO PC with $ 549 PC EEO 900. While the basic hardware has not changed much, ASUS actually increase the screen size from 7 "to 8.9" and increase the screen resolution of 800x400 to 1024x600 more acceptable. Internal storage also increased from a maximum of 8 GB EEO PC 8G at up to 20 GB version for Linux PC EEO 900.

Currently, pressure mounting from want and from MSI with its low-cost laptop and desktop Wind wind, ASUS is ready to launch another salvo of buying public and its competition.

The first of a new wave of products includes the new EEO PC 901. While EEO PC 900 looked slightly enlarged EEO PC 701, PC 901 EEO features all new exterior chrome detail to spice things work bits and Bluetooth. It also includes Intel's new processor 1.6GHz Atom (Diamondville) - which features simultaneous multithreading (SMT), - and the chipset Intel 945G.

The following activities EEE PC 1000. As the name implies, this unit will feature 10 "screen to make smaller combat units on the grounds of MSI wind and, presumably, larger keyboard to match - a step which is sure to silence critics of the current EEO. Not much more known about the specifications of the unit, except that it will use the same processor found on the Atom EEO PC 901.

The final piece to the puzzle is EEO EEO box; AnandTech, which have already dissected in preparation for full review. ASUS first EEO-brand products for desktop market will also feature Atom processor (unknown main clock frequency), 2 GB of memory DDR2, as well as the chipset Intel 945G. Unlike their notebook counterparts, however, EEO box will abandon the solid state data storage (SSD) and will use traditional 160GB HDD.

EEE PC 901, PC EEO 1000, and EEO Box will be announced June 2. EEE PC 901 will be available in mid-June, although EEO PC 1000, is expected to make a type of retail trade in July shortly after the EEO Box. (via)
